Funny story yesterday at collage we had to sign a contract with microsoft saying that when we got this big software bundle we couldn't use it on more than one computer, give our serial numbers away, back it up(ISO) and blah blah blah, and then I look at what comes in this so called "software bundle" and lol we get useless stuff like Internet Explorer 6.0(downloadable for free wow thats a new one free and microsoft in the same sentance), Windows XP Tablet edition, Windows XP home(WHY NOT PRO?), Windws 2003 server edition(THERES MORE CANT REMMEBER IT ALL BELIVES MOST OF IT S GARBAGE) and heres what made me choke and die we have to (dont be supprised) pay 100 dollars but wait we get that money back after we return all the useless cd's. But still who wans to give a 100 dollars away just for some garbage software bundle that you can get for free in linux(ALSO WHO WANTS TO GIVE M$ THAT 100 DOLLARS), when I can use linux and actually learn something for a change. When I use windows I feel like im out of the loop when all I want is to be in the loop linux puts me in that loop. Well I just had to get that off my mind.

Question for what kind of vpn?

Hi

If you are trying to connect to a PPTP VPN (some ISPs use this), you need the PPTP client for Linux

pptpclient.sourceforge.net

Download it compile it and try to run it. After some scripting work, it should be running ok in your system.

There are also other vpn-like clients like the l2tp client. It basically depends on what specific type of vpn are you
trying to connect to. .

good luck.
