help me with routing (route command)
Hi everybody
Please help in finding solution for this scenario.
I have a small network with 5 clients system, a linux network gateway (gateway1) (which runs ipchains firewall)
My gateway1 setup is as follows
Eth1 = External ip (ex:88.88.88.88) Internet interface (example static ip used)
Eth0 = Internal Ip (192.168.5.1) Lan interface
The internal subnet is 192.168.5.0/24
The following above setup work without any problem.
I have another internet gateway system (gateway2) which is connected to another ISP which in turn has a static ip, its setup is given below
Gateway2 system
Eth1 = External ip (ex:78.78.78.78) Internet interface (example static ip used)
Eth0 = Internal Ip (192.168.5.15) Lan interface
The internal subnet is 192.168.5.0/24
Both the gateway system are connected
Now I want this to happen
For example the client system wants to connect to a remote system which has an ip address 66.66.66.66 (example ip use) I want this connection from my client to go through my second gateway and the rest of the connection request to all other host will follow the default route [since default gateway in client is set to gateway1]
Making this possible with routing using route command in my gateway1 system.
I am very much confused with the routing table, what should I add in my routing table
My default route table in gateway1 system is as follows.
[root@gateway1 /root]# route
