help me to increase downloading speed


HI
i'm a lan user. my administrator has set up some software to control the download speed. now we can't download files above a certain minimum speed (4kbps). we got much better speed previously. is there any process to bypass this limit? would anyone please tell me how can i get rid of this control. i'm using redhat linux 9.

please help me

No. The admin would have set the limits up for a good reason and unless you're paying for the connection I suggest you deal with it. If I caught any of my juniors at work trying to bypass the the proxy we have setup they'd find they were in the market for a new job and I imagine most employers would feel the same.

Well, like cs-cam said start looking for another job because if you are trying to bypass anything at work it could lead to loosing your job. Restrictions are set up for a reason! So you are just going to have to deal with the slow donwload speed. You are lucky you can even download at all, i have worked at places where downloading is forbidden.

We are here to help each other out with real problems not to help people break the rules.
