Help: Installing Ambit(?) 60194E-004 cable modem on Debian Sarge via USB

I am turning an old laptop with a burnt out screen into a router/WAP, but have run into a roadblock with the cable modem. The bottom of the modem states that the model number is "60194E-004". I googled this and came up with Ambit being the manufacturer. I've also looked around for any information on the subject of installing USB modems on linux, but have only come up with info on installing DSL USB modems.

I'm just looking for some general information (although if someone has specific information that would be awesome!) on installing a USB cable modem on Linux. Unfortunately I'm stuck with having to use USB for the cable modem as the ethernet port is being used to connect to the internal network, and the CardBus slot has the wireless card in it.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm running Debian Sarge 3.1 with a 2.6.8-2 kernel. Thanks!

Just to let everyone know, and for anyone who has this same problem and searches, I did solve this. The solution was more simple than I thought! All I had to do was modprobe usbnet followed by ifconfig eth1 up. :D
