HELP!!! getting suse 9.1 personal on cable inet via network card

Ohhh man

I Do enjoy working with suse 9.1... it has installed and recognized everything I have added with ease.. except getting on the internet with a cable modem.....

cable modem = motorola surboard sb5100
modem manual says I can "share an internet connection" I have a windows xp system hooked up via the usb and the linux box hooked up to the modem via the ethernet plugin, Suse recognizes my network card and "configured" the card.. please help I just wanna get on the net so I can share my net connection either via the cable modem or setting up a little network with my windows xp "drunken fusebox" and my susebox

OS we are dealing with

Suse 9.1 personal
Windows xp

both have decent network cards the xp box has a a functioning net connection... please help

You would need a router or to use one of your computers as a gateway to share your connection. The cable modem is not made for two connections like that.
