Having trouble using tor and privoxy on FC5.

Hi. Im following the instructions on the tor website to install Tor and privoxy. I installed them via YUM and also installed the TorButton plugin. When i click on the TorButton to enable Tor i get this message. "The Proxy Server is refusing connections" I am assuming the issue is with Privoxy being configured wrong but i don't know how to configure it correctly. These are the proxy settings in firefox when i click on TorButton

HTTP: localhost port: 8118
SSL: localhost port: 8118
Socks: localhost port: 9050
no proxy for: localhost,
socks v5
i left out the fields that were blank. Is the problem the no proxy for field? Should i empty that one out for it to work? And what version of Socks should i use? 4 or 5? can anyone help me out? Sorry im a noob to proxies and configuring them. Thanks for any replies in advance.

ok i got it all sorted out. Privoxy didn't start because it was looking for the config file in the current directory so i had to start it specifing the config file. I typed and it brought me to so i had to type to get to the english version. Has that happened to anyone one else? Also i was curious as to ways to test out myself to see if tor is work. The tor dector on the tor website says i am using it but is there any commandline utilities i can use to double check all my programs are using it properly to make sure i configured gaim and xchat approriately? thanks for any replies in advance.
