have wap act as DNS?

I have a linksys BEFW11S4 wireless access point router. It provides dhcp for my small private network. Is it also possible to have this act as the DNS? I notice that it does track the hostnames associated with each IP for DHCP, however if I assign the router as the DNS server I get nothing back for name resolution.

Also, if its not possible to use the router for DNS is it possible to have the DHCP server running on the access point update a DNS server running on a machine in the network?

tia,

Linksys doesn't advertise DNS as one of the capabilities of this product on their website.
