Post Have Linux any feature like Group policy in Windows OS?

Hello.
Have Linux any option like Group Policy in Windows OS? For example, In Windows you can set a Policy for apply on all clients that proxies changed but how about Linux? How a Linux admin can set proxy for all clients when they are logging into their systems?

Thank you.

with a user name like that, I thought you might already know the admin stuff..."permissions"

a simple search offers plenty of pages to follow... permissions linux group

Near everything including drive space...

how to check the permissions of a file...

archlinux have some of the best tutorials on the web...

ok, after all that, for a proxy server you would setup the proxy to be transparent,

and to be used system wide (globally).

I used to use squid and iptables to do just that.

Again, a quick search will uncover what needs to be done.

hope this helps

I guess you miss understand I mean. If you worked with Windows OS, You will see a Group Policy management like below :

http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/wp-...2_00c6f3c2.png

In GP, You can write a policy and it will apply on all clients automatically. For example, Define a Proxy and it will apply on internet option of the users and the user don't need to set it by hand. How about Linux? Can Linux do it too?

Thank you.

Well, you can configure samba to act as a windows domain controller. I haven't used this feature of samba, but group policies may be part of the DC package.
