have access to ipv6.google.com but not other ipv6 address

Briefly speaking, I have access to http://ipv6.google.com or some other ipv6 website. The ipv6 test website http://ipv6-test.com/ also says that I have both ipv4 and ipv6 connections.

The strange thing is I cannot access the other ipv6 website http://bt.neu6.edu.cn/. And the other guys in the same room using windows7 can readily log to it. I try to trace route to the two addresses. Below is the output:

Code:

The number of hop is bigger for http://bt.neu6.edu.cn/. You can increase hop limit for IPv6.
In general, it is under /proc/sys/net/ipv6/. Maybe deeping to subdirectory dependent on distribution.

superweijiafeng 12-03-2014 07:09 PM

I tried to change the max hopes to 60 and 100
Code:

traceroute bt.neu6.edu.cn -m 60
and
Code:

traceroute bt.neu6.edu.cn -m 100
It doesn't help, like the result of maxhope=30.

On windows the result is:
Code:

C:\Users\lei>tracert -6 bt.neu6.edu.cn

  1    1 ms    18 ms    2 ms  2001:da8:1007:49a::2
  2    <1 ms  <1  ms  <1  ms  2001:da8:1007:49a::1
  3    *        *        *    timeout
  4    2 ms    2 ms    2 ms  cernet2.net [2001:da8:a3:a002::1]
  5    *        *        *    timeout
  6    11 ms    11 ms    11 ms  2001:da8:1:26::1
  7    *        *        *    timeout
  8    *        *        *    timeout
  9    41 ms    42 ms    41 ms  2001:da8:1:509::2
 10    *        *        *    timeout
 11    41 ms    41 ms    41 ms  neu6.edu.cn [2001:da8:9000:f001::2:2]
 12    41 ms    41 ms    41 ms  neu6.edu.cn [2001:da8:9000:f003::9:2]
 13    40 ms    40 ms    40 ms  bt.neu6.edu.cn [2001:da8:9000::232]

I dont know why the neu6.edu.cn doesn't redirect me to the bt.neu6.edu.cn.

Are both Windows and Linux machine in same network, same source IPv6 network address?

superweijiafeng 12-04-2014 07:06 PM

One thing for sure is that they connect to the same switchboard, and the switchboard is connected to the campus network.

Does that mean they are in same network, same source IPv6 network address?

superweijiafeng 12-08-2014 03:25 AM

The problem is strange and I solved it in a strange way.

I managed to get several new ipv6 addresses. It seems that some addresses are "good" which can access both the websites, and others are "bad". BTW, I didn't change any settings except the ipv6 address.

Thanks nini09 for kind help.

nini09 12-08-2014 03:28 PM

The website is sensitive source IPv6 address.
