Have a problem with surfing on suse 10.0!
hey, I just installed Linux (Suse) for the first time last night, got it all setup, was amazed that it detected everything (network card video card audigy etc)
I'm liking it so far!
anyways, onto my dilema, whenever I goto surf a different website
for instance I goto say google it will sit for 5-7 seconds than it will load and seems to be fine so long as I don't goto a different page.
so I thought it was an ISP problem, so I boot into windows XP and tried the same thing, loaded up instantly, I'm using FireFox for both OS's and I'm on Sympatico (DSL) connected to a modem with built in router.
I tried changing from manually choose IP (192.168.2.15) to automatically choose it, restarted and its still doing the same thing... its quite frustrating considering I don't know a whole lot about Linux.
any suggestions/ideas?
Thanks for your time! It's much appreciated!

I'm the co-worker
He has Gateway intel on-board ethernet card. I will ssh to him tonight and collect the product number if needed.
I am thinking that it is a problem with the routers DHCP server, or authentication to the router (from SuSE) as window XP seems to connect fine.
I didn't have much time to hack a bit then, or any real good ideas.
Any daemon that will autheticate to his router/modem properly? We will have the router type posted tonight.
~EDIT~
He has a Gateway 2000 82801DB PRO/100 VE (LOM) Ethernet Controller
