Lightbulb half-life dedicated server

Hi all.

I got my hlds server running. The version is 3111 and the counter-strike version is 1.5.

I downloaded the client version, installed it. I can see the server but cant play off it. It gives me an error:
You cannot connect to a server which is operating under a different protocol version.

The protocol version as far as i saw was version 46.

Does any one know what i'm doing wrong?

Thanks
