guest OS access WIFI


I've just installed ubuntu 14.04 on my VM. the Host (windows XP) is connected to internet through WIFI. how can I make ubuntu (guest OS) get access to intenet too.

It should have access to the Internet automatically, if you have configured the VM's network adapter correctly.

I tried a lot of settings in VBOX but none of them fixed the issue. and now Im really stuck cause I need internet on guest OS to install mplayer on it ?

Please tells us the settings for the network in Virtualbox.

The guest has no concept of wifi, the guest has what it thinks is a physical network adapter, which is really just a pipe to the the VM software. When you set up the VM, you need to tell the VM software which network interface it should make available to the guest, and that's where you should be selecting your wifi interface.
