Groups, and access limits

I posted earlier about the adding users problem without no home dir, but XavierP fixed that problem.

Using the adduser command, I joined the user to group 202 at least I thought I did. When I pico /etc/group the user's name wasn't added to the group. Should I manual add the user to the file.

Currently, they have the default setting and can erase files and have access to some dir they don't need.

Thanks for the help.

I think your post has nothing to do with networking?

to check in which group you are, type id

to add user to group xxx , type addgroup user xxx

after doing that, for the change to be taken in account you need to launch a login shell:
logout
or
su - user
