Good SquidGuard Blacklists?

I'm looking for a good blacklist for squidguard that is current and maintained. I've Googled around but only seem to find old lists.

What would you guys suggest I use?

Thanks,

Brian

For the last 2 weeks I have been researching hosts files & blacklists in general. I think the shortest general purpose list boiled down to 745 unique domains, while the longest is pushing 600k lines in 25 category files.

My original interest was in blocking ads, but soon expanded to blocking spy- & other malware. I have no interest in blocking erotica, unless it's coming sleazy sites w/ aggressive advertising. My Where is a small home LAN w/ no one under 60 using it. Your needs may vary.

My Q is: What do you want to do, for Whom, & Where?

I'm trying to setup a decent filtering method for when I allow my 6 year old to access the internet. He's a good kid and I stay involved with her usage, but I'd like the extra layer of protection. In short, I want to block porn and keep the sleeze away from my kids.

Also looking for an updated Blacklist

I'm trying to filter out sites at a school enviroment. Right now i'm blocking some sites (porn) but there are other porn sites that I can get to.

Any help would be great!

Warning: I don't (yet) use Squid to filter, let alone squidGuard; although I am moving in that direction.

Have you found the official squidGuard blacklist page The squidGuard Blacklist?
On it there are 3 links to lists:
  1. http://ftp.teledanmark.no/pub/www/pr...cklists.tar.gz
    at parent dir.
  2. http://www.linugen.com/contentfilter/
  3. http://cache.univ-tlse1.fr/documenta....html#contrib" (intro page),
also see: old stuff, current stuff

#1 is their own list & seems to have been last updated on 19-Nov-2005. It is broken into categories:
  • ads
  • aggressive (= violence?)
  • audio-video
  • drugs
  • gambling
  • hacking
  • mail
  • porn
  • proxy (= anonymizers?)
  • violence (v. short)
  • warez

#2 is a database that doesn't work for me accessing through Konqueror 3.3.2.

#3 is from the Université Toulouse.Another Warning: These lists are/were originally robot generated & may need review before use.

Hope this helps.
