Gnome vs KDE and Samba vs Lisa

I don't understand what happened...
When I installed Redhat 8 I was using Gnome and Samba and through a lot of hard work I finally got my Windows XP to see my Linux Shared folder and I was passing files back and forth with no problem...I even discoved I could browse my windows shares with Nautilus by typing in the location smb:/// and bookmarking my shares. That was great. I even removed the mounts from fsbtab because I didn't need it, and I wanted it to be automatically accessible not manually.

Anyway...

Then I changed to KDE and at first I still had access to my Linux Shares from Windows XP, but I wanted to be able to browse my Windows shares in Konqueror...So I tried the nav bar option for Lan Browsing but it was looking to lan:localhost..I think..and could not access...so I typed the same thing in the location bar as I did in Nautilus...smb:/// and got access error...so I tried smb://PC1/MyFiles....and it opened up a blank screen...none of my files were shown.

So I discovered this configure thingy for something called Lisa, So I tried setting that up, seemed straight forward...but nothing changed still no visual access....I made sure the samba service was running, and so I thought I would run Swat again and check if something was changed....I verified every thing...was set to shared security and no users were defined...just completely open sharing and saved swat....
well now not only can I NOT see my Windows Files in Konqueror, but I have lost my connection to my Linux Share from Windows...clicking the "Linux" workgroup gives me a message about not having permission, access denied.

I even printed out my smb.conf file when everything worked in Gnome, and compare it with the existing file in KDE...It's the same...

What have I done? why would it work and then all of a sudden decide not to?

Is Lisa interfering with Samba?
Is the way KDE/Konqueror handles samba access very different then Gnome/Nautilus?
Does KDE have someting extra I have to do? I read somewhere that there is a plugin for Konqueror to view NTFS Windows shares. Do I need this?
Is it something to do with the password missing?

Any help would be appreciated.
