gnome networking issue

I use Gnome3 with fedora 15. when I need to connect to a new network for whatever reason I go to the networking menu in the upper right hand corner and select the ssid of the network I wish to connect to. now for what ever reason the menu listing the networks will vanish and give no indication that I did any thing no icons will change and the computer will not connect to the network. I have no idea what maybe causing this. I know it is a linux issue because windows runs the wifi card just fine and I know it is wifi specific because eth0 works just fine in linux.

ok so my wifi card is a Intel Corporation WiFi Link 5100. So I think I may need to reinstall the drivers. Is there any way to do that with yum?
