Question gnome authentication

I am running Redhat 9.0 on two computers and I am trying to run SSH to transfer info between them.

Even though GNOME is set up to ask for my passphrase when I log in, the server still asks for my PASSWORD, before I can ssh on to the host computer.

Help me, please!!!

gnome and your server are two separate enities

you can run startX ( gnome ) on your remote server
but you have to be logged in first
