getting static IP (suse linux)

I am remotely using a computer named REM (to which I have root access). This computer is connected to internet, but I want to do ssh access etc. Currently I am using teamviewer to connect to REM, but it does not share clipboard with my home computer HOM.

to configure static IP, but it requires disconnecting internet connection and even following this, I could not succeed.

Is there a way to accomplish 1. Static IP and 2. Sharing Clipboard with REM, over teamviewer (or an alternative).

Hi,

The static IP address is an issue for your provider...mine allows for one but it is a payed-for service...
REM needs to be contacted via the Internet, hence your issues...

If that fails, maybe (just maybe) a setup with dyndns could help...
