I am a newbie to Linux and need some help with setting up a box as router. I have a linux box setup with two 3Com NICs (3c509 and 3c509b) both of which are recognised by the kernel ( tried setting up the box individually with each of the cards). is setup as a dhcp client. I'd read somewhere that Optimum Online that I use in Connecticut does not work with
that comes with RH6.1 . So I downloaded ISC's
compiled it and set it up according to their instructions. However, when the machine comes up interface
fails to pick up an IP address. It comes up with customary ISC messages then the following:
