Getting belkin wireless g pci card to work in ubuntu

hi all,

this is my first post to this group. i saw a post about this and it said to download R74092us.exe this was downloaded in my computer with ubuntu 8.04

my question is when i downloaded the r74092us.exe file it put it on the desktop. when i clicked on it it asked what program i want to run with it. it did not run and expand it's files. do i need a unzip program for linux?
i have the computer running great on a eithernet card but want to go wireless.

thanks,ed

Hi, more precise information about your card would be welcome. then we could help you with your specific config.

You downloaded a Windows executable, from which you need to extract the files using the cabextract utility. You will then need the ndiswrapper program in order to use the windows .inf driver files. (install them using ndiswrapper -i *.inf )
