Getting around network collisions in Fedora 5
I'm running a computer that is wired to a Linksys router with two other computers connected to the router wirelessly. Everything had been going fine and dandy until I started getting network collisions. I talked to the people at Linksys about it and they said to try going from 100BaseT to 10BaseT. I was running XP at the time so the switch was pretty easy, but now that I've decided to make the full-time switch to Linux I'm running into that problem again.
I've tried switching to a different router, but the Netgear router I got exhibited the same problems and in Fedora I manually set up the IP, gateway, DNS addresses and used ethtool to set the card to 10Base with half duplex but that didn't work either. I switched back over to the Linksys router and tried switching to a card that was listed on the HCL here but still no go.
So I figure that before I waste any more gas driving back and forth to Fry's I'd ask here to see what you guys suggest.
Thanks!
