Gentoo: Trying to get my wireless card working with NetworkManager
I just got my Airlink AWLH5025 to connect using the instructions provided by Gentoo Wiki's article on Wireless Networking. I'd like to use NetworkManager, but I'm running into problems - launching it kills my connection, and even though it finds my network it won't connect to it.

Network Manager is a piece of *&^%. Sorry NM developers, but I am not impressed.
NM continually messed up my /etc/network/interfaces file so I removed it and replaced it with wicd although I still prefer to edit the /etc/network/interfaces file myself (it is usually quicker to do this than use the GUIs) http://wicd.sourceforge.net/ |
I understand the problem, since it is not easy to for us Gentoo user to play with /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules and /etc/conf.d/rc just to keep NM from hindering networks. I agree with tredegar to use wicd instead.
