Hey guys, Iam very aware on how to make cloned nic's on other distro ie: eth0:1, eth0:2 etc..

but in gentoo it seems to work a bit different and i cant seem to figure out how and where to do it.

First i just tried it with ifconfig eth0:1 x.x.x.x netmask x.x.x.x up <-- worked great as usual

BUT..

now i want it to start up if the server gets rebooted.. and i cant seem to find out where to do that..

I tried to edit the /etc/conf.d/net file and adding the following line.
then i copied and pasted the /etc/init.d/net.eth0 as /etc/init.d/net.eth0:1

then i just started the service /etc/init.d/net.eth0:1 start

but it did not work..

Iam pretty sure iam missing something or some syntax is wrong.. can anyone help me out?
