Generic way to find the URL for an IPP printer?

Is there a generic way to find the URL for an IPP printer? Given that I know the printer's hostname or IP address and I know that IPP is enabled. (Nmap can double-check that port 631 is open.)

For printers on the same subnet
Code:
avahi-browse -a -v -r -t | less
and look for the "rp=" entry will do the job, but that doesn't work if the printer's on a different subnet. Not all of the printers I've tried show the IPP URL in their web config pages.

This will run the CUPS backends to try to discover printers on the network (and directly connected printers)...
Code:
lpinfo -v
This will try to discover the URI using the CUPS snmp backend (assuming the IP address is already known)...
Code:
/usr/lib/cups/backend/snmp <IP_address>
