Gateway Plan

Hey,

I had a thread similar to this but it died, so excuse me if you answered that one.

I have the following setup:

Intenet <> Modem/Router <> Router <> PC's

and I have an OpenBSD system with 2 NIC's. I want to place it between the Modem and the router to act as a firewall, how would I best do this?

If anyone can point me towards what IP's, subnet masks and so on for the network, and what default gateway for the firewall and for the PC's connecting through it. I don't want to run the firewall as a bridge, as I need to be able to ssh into it.

If anyone can suggest how to go about this or give some pointers, thanks a lot

Which is doing DHCP? THe "Modem/Router" or the "Router"? What are the internal and external IP addresses of these now? Also, is one or either of these doing Network Address Translation (NAT)?

Sincerely
Bill Jennings
