Ftp Server

I'd like to first start with a little background as to where Im coming with this question.
I work for a small company as an It specialist and have always been fascinated by linux's capabilities. I talked my boss into letting me setup four ftp servers at four different locations each with a different subnet IP.
Im searching for an ftp server that has a very easy accessable client end for end-user's. I know that ftp normally can be accessed with windows explorer but I was trying to find out is are there any ftp server applications that allow you to make a http website that accesses files and has the functionality of an ftp server. Maybe something with a http front end and a ftp backend. Just to make submittions easier for our customers. I know I kinda mix things up in there but I was kindof thinking as I typed. So if there are any application that you know of that run in Linux for this kind of setup what would be very helpful. Thanx.

you could use something like http://freshmeat.net/projects/notftp/ on top of proftpd, but there is nothing out of the box that does what you mentioned

None of the popular FTp servers for Linux I know of have that feature. Perhaps what you're looking for is a Java-based FTP client.
