ftp guest uploads

I recently installed the latest version of WU-FTP on my linux computer. When I try to upload files to it as a guest user i get an error message saying that permission was denied on the server. When I try this as a real user I don't have any problems uploading files. I'm using dreamweaver to upload the files and it normally creates a temporary directory called XYIZNWSK. It is able to create this directory when I ftp in as a guest user. I've read the upload.configuration.HOWTO but it didn't help with my problem. Why can dreamweaver create a temporary directory but I can't upload files? Thanks for your help.

you might have disabled the guest users from your server. It is disabled by most ftp servers for security reasons i think

I don't think I disabled the guest users. I can log in as a guest into the proper chrooted environment but I can't upload files.
