FTP download problems
ok, i got everything connecting ok through my cable modem, but when i try to download stuff to my mac from the internet, i get an error cause it is seeing the macs addy of 192.168.0.2 not the masqed addy of the cable modem........is there any way around this? what i am doing is DLing from download.com and i can't because i get this error

Could be one of two things...
If all internet activity is effected

If your using IPTABLES you should do an
iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth1 -j MASQUERADE
to allow your client machines IP (192.168.0.2 ) to stop at the router, and the router to send the request using it's IP. Then when the packets are returned the router will convert them back for your client machine.
------------------------------------------------------------------
If it's just FTP thats being efected you may have to look around in your FTP Programs settings for "Use Passive Mode". I use SmartFTP and had to enable this option.

no, its not just running the FTP, its like when you click on a link in your web browser that points you to an FTP server.......thats when i get the error. i don't have a problem doing a plain FTP, its the integrated feature in Internet Explorer.....
