Question ftp centeral directory

We are trying to set up a central directory for our Linux box's ftp site using redhat 9.0 and vsftp. However we're not having much luck.

Any suggestions?... we've tried a soft link to a central directory but the vsftp won't even show the link so it didn't work that way.
