So you are unable to ftp to a remote Linux server running redhat 7.3? First and foremost: are you sure the server is running an ftp server? Is this a server you have accessiblity to? Would you be able to port scan it just to make sure or would this make someone mad? Do you know what ftp package the server is running(i.e. Wu-FTP,Pro-FTP,VSFTPD)? The log files are different for each ftp package. I know VSFTPD's log file is /var/log/vsftpd.log
even if you just take a look at the syslog in /var/log/ you may find some useful info there.....it logs whenever a connection is made and refused...and sometimes give info why...so if you can't find the log itself that may be helpful
