fstab mounting ending up read only, need them to re read/write

Can someone point me in the right direction!

I am trying to mount a cifs mount from one Linux server to the other. The reason for using samba, is simply to keep things organized. There are Linux WS, Mac, and Windows all connecting up. Would like to set up shares once, and have which ever OS wants to connect to be able to. This basically means Samba.

The issue I keep having is the mounts end up as read-only. This is true on the Linux WS and the Mac. No matter what I do the mount ends up read-only.

Here is my question, is there any set of instructions that explain how to set up the samba providing the shares, the samba mourning the shares? Or even some instructions telling me who/what is giving me the 'permission denied' error when I try a write.

Once I know I can get the Linux to Linux talking, the Mac should be easier to trouble shoot. Anything at all that will assist me in not doing this totally blind.
