Ok, back up a bit ...
run httpd -V for server info and start from there. |
Ok, follow-up:
I was trying to troubleshoot the system over SSH .. I'm not that good at the shell commands but it's good practice right? :) But I digress - Simple fix; ... I simply went home; ran synaptic - unchecked (to remove) all packages associated with httpd/apache.... then reinstalled all packages related to apache.... using synaptic. server worked - logged into webmin - went to httpd/apache section - Changed Document section - Documentroot to /home/www/www using gui .... restarted apache... bingo... so simple it made me almost want to cry .. lol I spend 3 days on a 10 minute fix. :) thanxs for the help everyone.... You'd think after a year I'd have everything down pat but ; hey.. what else can you say...  |
