I am trying to connect a linux box to a windows box with SQLServer 2000 on it. I got freeTDS to install without errors, but when I try to connect with tsql I get:
locale is "en_US.UTF-8"
locale charset is "UTF-8"
Msg 20009, Level 9, State 0, Server OpenClient, Line 0
Server is unavailable or does not exist.
There was a problem connecting to the server

I get the same error when I try to connect to the example JDBC server that they provide. I think it might be a networking problem, does anyone know what the problem is?
