I wonder if dhclient.conf is for wired and not wireless connections. I found a man page here:

It is for both connection types but your system might be using dhcpcd and not dhclient. If the NetworkManager version on your system does not have the capabilities desired then I can only suggest writing your own script.

There are only two steps. 1. Using wpa_supplicant to associate with the desired access point 2. Using dhclient or dhcpcd to acquire an IP address or use the ifconfig command to set a static and add DNS name server to the /etc/resolv.conf file.
