firewall exceptions
Hello!
I have the smb protocols closed, but I would like to open them for printing. Do I need to totally open up the protocol or can I make an exception for certain programs?
Thanks,
Murdock

Security tools like tcpwrappers and iptables (or other firewalls) are your friends, Murdock1979.
Try looking into their configuration.

Thanks!
Well, I could go into the iptables, but I am looking for a firewall application, like guardog that can act as an easy layer above the iptable.
Do you of any GUIs that supply exceptions?
