To propery configure a firewall, we would have to know this type of info:
What is the network layout?
What services you are running internal and external?
Is the machine is doing NAT/masquerading?
Which interface, if any, is connected to your ISP?
We might have to know more and most people don't want to disclose this information as it would only help me to hack you later(I have no interesting in doing so). The more I know, the easier I can get in. Check out netfilter.org and read the big huge manual. I think the website iptablesrocks.org is another helpful site I used. If you want to answer those questions, I'll try to help but know that anyone can read the info you post and not everyone online is trustworthy and you have no reason to trust me.
