I want to use Firestarter with SuSE 8 - but when i try to install the RPM, I am asked for initscripts. I have downloaded initscripts but when I try to install the RPM I get the folowing error -
<ome/stephen/Downloads/Software/initscripts-6.43-1.i386.rpm;echo RESULT=$?
error: failed dependencies:
mingetty is needed by initscripts-6.43-1
setup >= 2.0.3 is needed by initscripts-6.43-1
/sbin/fuser is needed by initscripts-6.43-1
which is needed by initscripts-6.43-1
mount >= 2.11g-5 is needed by initscripts-6.43-1
SysVinit is needed by initscripts-6.43-1
Am I missing something in particular ie one package or must I search for all of these things and then load install them? Why aren't they with SuSE 8 Pro?

i have no idea about SuSE, but it seems to me that you are using a package that is later than the release you are would not be able to INITIALIZE your linux filesystem without init scripts. if SuSE has an easy way to upgrade, and you have a fast enough connection, i recommend that. otherwise search for and install those packages.

if that isn't right, then you may have downloaded an rpm for a different distro. make sure you got it from SuSE or a SuSE mirror
