Hi,
Sorry for stupid question, but why I don't have "finger", "whois" and some other commands on my mandrake linux in console?
Just installed linux and wanted to practice unix command and whoops.

Well I don't know the exact installation process of a Mandrake system but I bet you can select (and deselect) packages to be installed. The problem would be then that you haven't installed the package that provides these tools (finger, etc). It should be in some sort of console package ...

I have installed all available packages, besides I though that this kind of command are basic standard. I have finger even on my Windows 2000...
