Finding the IP of a router without using DHCP

Say I want to connect to a network using a static IP. The router is not running a DHCP server, and I don't know its IP. What command(s) can I use to find the router's IP address, when my machine does not have a valid IP itself?

It might be possible to use a static arp ip and then see if it has a web config page that way.

Might be possible to monitor traffic with wireshare and see all the common messages about traffic.
