filtering for get requests with tcpdump

anyone know if this is possible? I.e., I just want to see packets with http get requests.

AFAIK no with the standard functionality. You can filter them out in Ethereal/Wireshark, however.

Just pipe tcpdump to grep. For example:

tcpdump -A -l port 8000 | grep -i get
