File Sharing Windows and linux together ?


can this be done , i'm setup a network here in the office.

6 pc running XP pro

1 linux server, >>

the linux server will be doing the following

1. sending fax, via fax modem shared on all 6 above systems
2. web , using xampp software
3. FTP, using xampp software
4. Database, using xampp software
5. File sharing, all 6 xp systems will use linux server as a main backup
6. shared printer.
7. etc


is it better for me to use windows xp for the server ?

hi there

using linux wil certainly be better idea
since it can handle all this load better than windows

i can gaurantee of these

2. web , using xampp software

i cannot say about sharing FAX modem

and what is xampp software??

hummm, on a linux areas how can windows view linux shared folders and printers

samba
