Cool File Sharing Networking Server

Hello everyone,

I am runnig Fedora Core. 5 I need help with some things the first off CAN YOU MAKE A FILE SHARING SERVER WITH FEDORA CORE? the second thing is if it can work HOW CAN YOU DO THAT WITH FEDORA CORE? the last thing is that CAN YOU MAKE THE FILE SHARING SO IT CAN WORK WITH A WIRELESS WINDOW XP HOME?

Yes, you need to set up samba. This site has a quick howto for configuring samba. Relatively easy.

First capitol letters can be seen as shouting. I know that is not your intension just to let you know.

1. What you want to do is setup samba server. You can do search here for samba fedora setup for more info. Also google has many links to the same.
2. Either use the Samba server config tool or manually edit /etc/samba/smb.conf file
3. As long as all computers are on the same subnet then should work fine. Only issue I see if there are any firewalls up on the machines. If so then they either need to be disabled or have the standard ports opened through it. If all machines are behind a firewall router then no firewall should be needed but it doesn't hurt to have them up and running.
