Dear all in this forum ,

I am very beginner to Linux , I downloaded FC3 one week before on my Computer at work , my computer is connected to a LAN , It pings other computers and see them .

I want to login to the computer using windows 2003 server username and password and domain name and to see the network as I used to in Microsoft Technolgy . and then to use a shared printer located in windows network ,

any help will be very appreciated.

What is the function domain level your using for your 2003 domain?
2003 native mode
2003 Interim mode
2000 native mode
2000 mixed mode

It will largely depend on the current setup as to wether or not MS is allow communication with "lesser evolved" or less secure operating systems.

Hopefully the admin that set up the network will know. Those are based on certian criteria that the servers use for authenication, encrypted communication, multi-master replication between the DC's assuming its Native. Ask one of the MCSE/MCSA's where you work, they should know.

I tried the command from terminal command
smbclient -L ip-address

and it gives me the shared folders on the server machine
but I couldn't mount any of them .
