Fedora 3 Updated Not able to connect now

I have a dual boot with XP and Fedora 3 had lived there fine for a while I updated the kernal and apps via the update icon and now I can't get a connection . My other two boxes are fine and can get out through the D-Link router (one is a wireless connection)

Any ideas on what got reset or altered?

Try bringing up the connection manually (as root):

ifdown eth0
dhclient eth0

If that works, you could put those commands at the end of the file /etc/rc.d/rc.local and you will be connected at boot time.

I can't bring up eth0 it is inactive and when i try it eventually tells me that there is a hardare issue with a cable. The windows OS works when I boot into that, so that is not the issue.
I have booted into the old kernal that was first on there and still no ethernet connection.

ifup eth0 is of no luck either
