Fatal error in MPI_Init: Other MPI error, error stack:gethostbyname failed(errno 1)

Dear all,
I have installed a software in my server using MPICH.
When I try to run the executable created, I found following error!

Fatal error in MPI_Init: Other MPI error, error stack:
MPIR_Init_thread(420)..............:
MPID_Init(180).....................: channel initialization failed
MPIDI_CH3_Init(38).................:
MPID_nem_init(244).................:
MPID_nem_tcp_init(108).............:
MPID_nem_tcp_get_business_card(354):
MPID_nem_tcp_init(313).............: gethostbyname failed, my hostname(errno 1)

I did not change any settings in the server including /etc/hosts file.
I think the /etc/hosts file has no problem.

Could anyone please help me solving this problem??

by the message: gethostbyname failed, my hostname(errno 1
that means you should append your hostname to /etc/hosts
then it will be ok!
