f5d6020 v2 in Fedora Core4

I have a F5d6020 v2 belkin 802.11 card and have tried just about every configuration option i was able to find anywhere google pointed including the one in the HCL. It is suposed to be an atmel chipset card. cardctl has it properly, ifconfig shows it iwconfig shows it there, the lights blink, atmel-firmware has been installed and ive tried the atmel_cs and pcfmdXXX drivers, I can't remember what lspci said and im now on another computer. but the same thing happens every time, 00:00:00:00:00 for the access point. If I use the Kwifimanager (KDE) it shows me a green 11mbps line and says it's scanning for networks but when I hit the scan button it tells me it did not find any.
One time it just worked after I rebooted which was strange since I had not made any changes and it was not working when i shut it off prior to the reboot. after i rebooted again it quit working, again no changes were made. Has anyone actually got this card to work?? Is there a card that works out of the box?? I dont want to go back to that XP os but I need my wi-fi internet fix.

Belkin Wifi fix

Hi - I have the same card, to make it work you need this RPM:

http://thekelleys.org.uk/atmel/atmel...fc3.noarch.rpm

It doesn't matter that its meant for FC3 - IIRC opening it from the website will prompt for your root password and install it.

This will install the firmware binary to make the card work. You can enter the ESSID and WEP keys in the Network Devices (?) window under the System menu

My card seems to drop the connection after about 10mins of inactivity - I'd be very interested to know if you have the same problem..

Let me know if you have any problems,

cheers,
-Chris
