Extremely slow mount times for NFS
Greetings, I have a new Red Hat ES4 server that is exporting a few basic shares. However mounting these shares is painfully slow. In searching amongst Google and on here, I have covered my bases I think:
- DNS is good on both the client and server - Portmap is running properly on Server - NFS and NFSlock are started and running, and I can see the proper rpc.xxx processes. The connection starts to get made, then... it just hangs there. For grins here is the Ethereal dump of the session totally about 100 seconds to complete. http://www.whootis.com/nfs_capture I am totally stumped. Anyone have any ideas? Orrrr could anyone tell me how best to get nfs to startup on the server side in some sort of debug mode that will dump lots of helpful info into syslog? Thanks |
