Exim4 only local delivery

Hi Iam using exim4 on debian sarge in smarthost mode..I want to to use my hosting to relay emails that Iam sending through the hosting smtp server. Ive got exim4 setup and when I try to send emails using mutt locally "to the users of the debian box" it works perfectly, but when I try to send an email to any email address I get a fast email reply stating the following :

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:
Unrouteable address

My /var/log/exim4/mainlog file states the following:

2006-05-02 20:04:55 1FayIw-00019I-UW <= U=ali P=local S=470
2006-05-02 20:04:55 1FayIw-00019I-UW ** Unrouteable address
