exim4 exim4, setup debian
I have exim4 installed on debian linux. I have SBC yahoo dsl, static ip.
I can't email people outside my local network. I like I can email user@localhost, but I can't email user@aol.com. Its frusterating. I tried setting up dc_smarthost in the update-exim4.con.conf" file to point to my SBC yahoo's smtp address: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com, but that doesn't work either because it requires authentication. So I tried, adding line: "smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com:username:password" (I have my real sbc yahool username and password there of course) ,but that didnt work either. I just simply want to email people outside my local network, so my perl scripts will work. Please help me. |
Try setting the group = mail in the conf file. I use Exim and have no problems and it should be easy to configure. The group mail is essential for working correctly, but I cant remember exactly if it was in connection with receiving or sending mails.
