Ethernet disconnects every few minutes then reconnects after a minute

Hello all,

I recently updated my "server" to Slackware 12.2 (clean install). So far I have only set up FTP and ssh, mostly because if I connect through ssh after about 5 minutes, whether I am doing anything or not it just kicks me off saying client disconnected. If I connect via SSH it does the same thing. If I set my server to download something of medium size, say 500Megs with wget with timeout of 999 minutes it downloads about 10% and acts like the server is timing out, but its not because i can download with my laptop the full 100% no problem.

lspci output:
Code:

eth0: link up, 100Mbps, full-duplex, lpa 0x45E1
eth0: no IPv6 routers present
device eth0 entered promiscuous mode
device eth0 left promiscuous mode
Just to ensure ssh and ftp are not the culprit for the problem I set their respective timeouts to 100 minutes. Still have the problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Nevermind, my bad for not thinking about ip conflicts....

Server IP: 192.168.1.102 (Statically Assigned)
Wii IP: 192.168.1.102 (Dynamic via DHCP)

With the Wii in standby my server can go places just fine, but every once in a while the Wii's wireless wakes up, causing the loss in temporary connection. Told the wii to get a new IP address, and problem solved.

Sorry for the wasted post.
